Curry Puffs

1 ½ T vegetable oil
200 g beef mince
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 t ginger
1 small red chilli, finely chopped
3 t mild curry powder
¼ t black pepper
½ C water
1 t garam masala
1/3 C frozen peas
5 sheets puff pastry

Preheat oven 190°C. Heat oil and cook beef, onion, garlic, ginger, chilli 3 mins, add curry powder, pepper, garam masala 1 min. Add water, peas, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 6 mins until meat cooked and liquid well reduced (add 1 T plain flour if necessary). Cut pastry into 20 rounds or triangles, place 2 t filling in each, fold over and seal edges with milk and fork. Bake 15 mins or until golden.
