Bombay Curry

1 T oil
1 kg beef, cubed
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic
2 green chillies, chopped
1 T ginger
1½ t turmeric
1 t cumin
1 T ground coriander
1 t chilli powder
1 t salt
400 g can crushed tomatoes
1 C coconut milk
Heat oil, brown meat in batches, remove. Cook onion until soft, add garlic, ginger, chilli, spices, stir until heated through. Return meat and stir to cover with spices. Stir in salt and tomatoes, simmer uncovered 1 ? 1½ hours until meat tender. Stir in coconut milk and simmer another 5 mins until sauce thickened slightly.
