Tandoori Kebabs

1 onion, grated
1 t ginger
2 garlic cloves
1 T ground coriander
1½ t cumin
½ t chilli powder
1 T garam masala
¾ C natural yoghurt
Red food colouring (optional)
½ t salt
500 g lamb or beef, cubed
Oil for cooking
Mix in bowl the onion, ginger, garlic, coriander, cumin, chilli powder, garam masala, add yoghurt, food colouring, salt and beat lightly. Add meat and stir to coat each piece, cover and refrigerate overnight. Soak 12 skewers. Assemble kebabs then cook on BBQ/grill using vegetable oil, ~ 12 mins.
