Apple Crumble

9 granny smith apples 1 tin blueberries 1 cup flour 1 cup brown sugar 80-100g butter, melted Raw almonds
Peel, chop and cook apple. (Use only about 1 tabs of water to cook them with, but place lid on. For added flavour you could put in a couple of cloves - but remember to take them out when cooked because they taste unpleasant to bite into.) To make crumble mix the flour and sugar really well. Then slowly add the melted butter - maybe half at a time - mix until all crumbly. Place blueberries in dish first - spread evenly over the bottom. Then spoon the cooked apple over the blueberries, then place crumble over the top of the apple. Can then be decorated with almonds. Place in oven at about 180C for 20 mins or so - or you can cook and then just keep warm for hours or you can cook it longer at a lower heat. If you over-cook it, it actually goes all caramelly and is quite nice. In fact you can't really go wrong with the cooking - unless it's really burnt. I usually look to see if the crumble is a bit crispy and the apple is bubbling. Serve with icecream, cream or custard or all three!
